On June 5, 2012, the airline launched a frequent flyer program called VClub. [4] It is the membership program that provides special fares, offers, last minute travel deals and other perks. Customers can save up to 40% using the VClub membership. On June 6, 2012, PayPal became a payment alternative for the airline, enabling customers to purchase tickets directly from the airline's website. Oh my, you had quite an experience! I can’t imagine what you must have gone through after the tsunami hit. I think I would have reacted similarly to you, just an emotional wreck knowing how many people were suffering so close by. I was that emotional in the STATES for god sake! I’m glad you were able to turn an otherwise strange/unpleasant experience into something positive with your travels and your new outlook on life. I have similarly complicated feelings about the place you now call home, I still wholeheartedly love Chiang Mai but some parts of that experience I’d never want to relive!

The ghats, stone steps leading down to the river for washing and praying, in Nashik are truly mesmerising and, unlike in Varanasi, there are no pushy touts looking to make a quick rupee from backpackers. If you are into your photography, Nashik is one of the best places to visit some truly untouched Ghats and to capture scenes of Indian rural life. One day in Nashik is enough; besides the ghats there isn’t much to see. I couchsurfed here and found myself in a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class in the evening… such is travelling in India! If you fancy spending a second day in Nashik, there is a pleasant day hike to Trimbak which is worth checking out. From Nashik you can arrange a sleeper bus towards Goa, or if you are feeling adventurous catch a train to Gulbarga and then onwards to Bidar and Bijapur, you may have to go via Bombay. I Couchsurfed in Nashik.

Hey! We are in Maratua! After 3 days in Derawan we run away. It was horrible!
Garbage all over, our room (nice on the water) discharged our…dejection directly in the sea where we were supposed to swim! The only free beach was stinky and littered all over. It is low season, very few tourists, but so many guest houses ! During the season it should be a real hell!!
Not even a decent indonesian meal! Only Sangalaki and Kakaban by speed boat were fantastic!
So just sail directly to Maratua, the real paradise of beaches and jungle!!!!! Our “guest house Maratua”, north of the island, arranges boats and all you need, good food, nice room in the jungle and terrace on a terrific CLEAN beach!
Derawan is just a stinky crap! By by….
